چکیده مقاله:

This paper presents the Fourier and wavelet characterization of vibration problem. To determine the natural frequencies, modal damping and mass participation factors of bars, a rod element is established by means ofisogeometric formulation. The non-uniform rational Bezier splines (NURBS) is presented to characterize the geometry and the deformation field in isogeometric analysis (IGA). Non-proportional damping has been used to measure the real-state energy dissipation in vibration. Therefore, the stiffness, damping and mass matrices are derived by the NURBS basis functions. The efficiency and accuracy of the present isogeometric analysis is demonstrated by using classical finite element method (FEM) models and closed-form analytical solutions. The frequency content, modal excitation energy and damping are measured as basis values. Results show that the present isogeometric formulation can determine the modal frequencies and inherent damping in anaccurate way. Damping as an inherent characteristics of viscoelastic materials is treated in a realistic way in IGA method using non-proportional form. Based on results, k-refinement technique has enhanced the accuracy convergence with respect to other refinement methods. In addition, the half-power bandwidth method givesmodal damping for the IGA solution with appropriate accuracy with respect to FEM. Accuracy difference between quadratic and cubic NURBS is significant in IGA h-refinement

Fourier Analysis and Wavelet Analysis

658 NOTICES OF THE AMS VOLUME 44, NUMBER 6 I n this article we will compare the classical methods of Fourier analysis with the newer methods of wavelet analysis. Given a signal, say a sound or an image, Fourier analysis easily calculates the frequencies and the amplitudes of those frequencies which make up the signal. This provides a broad overview of the characteristics of the signal, which is...

Wavelet Spectra compared to Fourier

The relation between Fourier spectra and spectra obtained from wavelet analysis is established. Small scale asymptotic analysis shows that the wavelet spectrum is meaningful only when the analysing wavelet has enough vanishing moments. We relate these results to regularity theorems in Besov spaces. For the analysis of innnitly regular signals, a new wavelet, with innnit number of cancellations ...

Fourier Series Analysis of Epicyclic Gearbox Vibration

Epicyclic gears are used in many applications because they can achieve a large torque/speed ratio in a compact package. In most gearboxes, the estimated spectrum of the vibration signal is symmetric and centered at the meshing frequency. For epicyclic gears, the estimated spectrum is typically asymmetric and the dominant frequency component does not occur at the meshing frequency. This is an im...

Isogeometric design and analysis

Isogeometric analysis (IGA) aims to bridge the geometric divide between CAD systems and FEA software tools. It is founded on the idea of using the same basis functions to represent the CAD geometry and to approximate the physical quantities appearing in analysis. It promises to revolutionize the design and analysis processes for automobile, aerospace and marine industry by eliminating the need ...
